• The end is in sight

Only 5 days now until we move in. Yesterday I had a little melt down as the house was such a mess but with some super organisation from James and lots of help the stairs have gone in, the featherboard is going on the front of the house, the upstairs floors are going down and the windows are all clean! Why oh why do new windows come with stickers on them?? I have spent about 4 hours peeling stickers off while perched on snowy scaffolding and then cleaning all the mortar off the windows. My thigh muscles are definiately feeling it this evening!

The floorers come tomorrow to begin the downstairs floors and the tiler comes to lay the floor tiles in the bathrooms so James can get some toilets fitted for when we move in - always a bonus to have a flushing loo!

The snow has held us up a little but we will get there I think by the sheer hard work and dedication of our team of tradesmen and friends and family who have helped us out.

But we're exhausted! And it will be a while yet before we can put our feet up but at least the pressure of the deadline for moving day will have passed.

The alpacas have coped well with the snow, although they are walking around with lots of little snowballs stuck to their feet! They are using their field shetlters more as we are filling them with hay every day. The ponies aren't very impressed and spend alot of time just standing looking bored. Amy is looking forward to better weather so she can start training them.

We've had an invite from a new neighbour to a "cheese and wine" evening just after we move in so that will be nice to meet the neighbours.

Right, sleep beckons. Will update again with pics once we have moved in!
