• Our first baby!

Our very first Abbotts View Farm cria was born on Saturday 25th August. Mum wynne is doing a grand job and the little Annie is just gorgeous! She weighed in at just over 9kgs and is as bright as a button. We were all very excited and pleased to share our new arrival with our friends who had just come for a visit for the first time to the farm! It did mean we were a little preoccupied though!

Our ponies have also arrived and after a stressful loading experience seem to be settling down at the farm. They're not very tame yet but are only one and we're giving them time to settle to their new surroundings before we start working with them. The alpacas are very interested in them and watch everything they do!

We have had two birthdays over the past two weeks (a 10th and an 18th!) so have been busy celebrating those with our daughters and work on the farm has continued with the foundation bricks being laid, the bio disc has been buried (for toilet waste!) and the solar panels are continuing to be installed on the barn. The erection date for the house is now the end of September which is good really as we could do with a little breathing space!

The foundations look astonishingly small still but I am assured the measurements are correct! I was amazed when I measured for myself then came home and compared measurements with what we already have and it didn't look nearly so small as it does out there in the big field!

Once the schools return I need to start choosing flooring, kitchens and bathrooms - which I'm finding a lot harder than I thought!
